Jordan Brand’s “Black Cat” story is one of the less controversial aspects of MJ’s history, which stems from one of the first childhood nicknames. When Tinker Hatfield designed Air Jordan 13, he brought the idea of “Black Cats” into the limelight, telling Jordan that the way he was moving remembered a giant cat of prey. Since then, the black colorway has become popular in the legacy series of brands, including Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 13. On the back of the spine, six iridescent circles concentrate each year when MJ leads to the Bulls at an NBA indoor championship. “Black Cat” is found in both tongues to continue this forgotten part of Jordan Brand’s testimonies.
